The Treatment
Juvéderm, a transparent gel that is made from Hyaluronic Acid (HA), is injected into the deeper tissues of the face. The product is popular among patients because it adds immediate volume to the treatment area and will slowly absorb water, increasing the overall volume in the skin. Juvéderm will be progressively absorbed over the course of 6 – 9 months.
Now, a number of additional products are available that are manufactured using proprietary Vycross technology. Vycross technology employs a proprietary mix of low and high molecular weight HA, which results in a highly cross-linked gel that’s moldable immediately after injection, displays minimal gel swelling, and is designed to last longer than the earlier generation of fillers.
We recommend that patients avoid aspirin products, blood thinners, and ibuprofen prior to their appointment. This will help to reduce the chance of post-treatment bruising. The procedure takes approximately 15 – 30 minutes to complete.
Once the numbing agent applied to the treatment areas has taken effect, Juvéderm will be administered into the face. A treatment of Juvéderm adds immediate volume to the treated area and each product will gradually absorb water, further increasing the overall volume.
This does not cause your body to react and will be progressively absorbed over the course of the next 6 – 12 months, depending upon which product is used and the location injected.
It offers additional cross-linking that makes it more difficult for the body to break down the filler to provide longer-lasting results.
It harnesses the power of Ultra and Ultra Plus, with the addition of the anesthetic lidocaine built-in to the formula.
It has the lowest HA concentration which makes it the softest and most natural product excellent for challenging areas and for patients wanting a more natural result. The softness of the product makes it almost undetectable in the tissues.
It sits in an intermediate position within the Vycross line with respect to HA concentration. This allows a great deal of flexibility in the locations where this product can be of use.
It has the highest HA concentration which provides the longest lasting result and the most power to elevate and lift the tissues. This product is injected at a deeper level and ideal for the cheek and jawline.

Recovery & Comfort
Juvéderm fillers are minimally invasive and require little to no downtime. These effects typically resolve within 48 to 72 hours and can be easily concealed with makeup. Most patients return to normal activities immediately after treatment.
