What is Sculptra®?
Sculptra® is made from Poly-L-lactic acid that is suspended in a solution of saline and lidocaine (numbing medicine). It is injected into your tissues and there it remains for a period of time.
In the months to follow, Sculptra® will stimulate the production of natural collagen and increase the local soft-tissue volume, which is effective in reinflating empty tissues.
Dr. Marin uses Sculptra® to treat common issues in the face including marionette lines, nasolabial folds, and hollow sections in the temples and cheekbones.
Before & During the Treatment
Dr. Marin performs Sculptra® as an in-office procedure that can be done in 15 – 30 minutes. Topical anesthesia will be applied to the skin to ease discomfort, followed by the administration of the treatment deep into the facial fatty layer of the skin.
Once Sculptra® has been applied, Dr. Marin will massage the affected areas in order to even out and facilitate its absorption into the skin.
You may require 3 sessions of Sculptra® to fully maximize your results.

Once your final results from Sculptra® has settled, you can enjoy a younger, rejuvenated, and overall relaxed look. The procedure reverses any visible signs of aging while strengthening your skin with improved elasticity.
Recovery
Recovery from Sculptra® is relatively straightforward. After the treatment, Dr. Marin will massage each of the areas where the product was placed, showing you exactly how it is to be done during your recovery.
Our patients are instructed to perform a massage 5 times a day for 5 minutes over the course of the next 5 days. Massage can be done with your hands or by rolling a lipstick or chapstick container over the areas like a rolling pin.
