Breast Procedure Before Valentine's Day
Whether you are single or in a relationship, Valentine’s season is there to remind you to show love to the most important person in your life – yourself. I admit that we all forget this. Because without self-love, it’s almost impossible for others to expect affection from you.

Why not pamper yourself at the spa, update your wardrobe, or, better yet, treat yourself to a body makeover that will make you feel good and confident no matter what you wear or even without wearing anything?

A perfect gift you can give yourself this time of year is plastic surgery. Breast augmentation, breast reduction, and breast lift remain the most popular cosmetic procedures among women today. These procedures not only improve their appearance but can also solve some functional problems with their breasts. Many women with larger breasts suffer from back pain, neck pain and are limited in their physical activities.

Breast surgery is worth considering, whether you want to undergo the procedure to look better in the month of love or to simply take the next step on the path to self-improvement.

Types of Breast Procedures

The type of breast procedure that you want or need depends primarily on the issues you would like to address. Whether it is the size, sagging, proportion, volume, or symmetry, there are an array of surgical options that will meet your needs.

Breast Augmentation

Whether through implants or fat transfer, breast augmentation is still one of the most popular cosmetic procedures that many women choose for a variety of reasons.

Perhaps you are a bit self-conscious from birth because of the lack of size, irregular shape, or disproportionate position of your breasts. If so, breast augmentation can give you the improved bust size, shape, and greater self-confidence you have always wanted.

Before the procedure, I work with all of my patients to find the best type, shape, and size of implants to help them achieve their goals. Breast augmentation surgery takes between 45 minutes and an hour and a half.

While you are under general anesthesia, small incisions are made into which the implants of your choice can be placed. After several months you can already begin to see the final result of your augmentation.

Breast Lift

A mastopexy or breast lift can restore breast position on the chest that may have been lost due to aging, pregnancy, breastfeeding, or drastic weight loss. During this procedure, the excess and overstretched skin around the breast is removed and the surrounding tissue is tightened. A breast lift can also be performed with breast augmentation surgery, as this combination simultaneously increases the volume and size of your breasts.

A typical breast lift procedure takes between 3-5 hours. While you are under general or local anesthesia, your breasts and nipples are already reshaped, tightened, and lifted by cutting away the tissue and excess skin. The incisions are then closed when the breasts are in the shape you desire. Expect the final results of your breast lift within 2-3 months.

Breast Reduction

Women usually seek breast reduction surgery to solve the physical problems caused by large breasts. The most common complaint is neck and back pain. Painkillers or physical therapy may work, but they are only a temporary solution as the heavy breasts continue to pull their own weight down.

Large breasts can also be uncomfortable, as they get in the way of women’s daily activities. Wearing a bra is uncomfortable, as the straps cause deep indentations and irritation on the skin. Many women feel uncomfortable as their large breasts can make them look heavier or overly busty creating unwanted attention.

For patients with good skin elasticity, this procedure can be performed with liposuction. For those who do not have the required elasticity, a vertical or “lollipop” reduction may be more appropriate. However, these two types can only provide a minimal reduction. The inverted T technique, where the incision mimics the shape of an anchor in the breast crease, allows flexibility and can maximize the benefits you can get from breast reduction.

Breast reduction can take between 3-5 hours, depending of course on the technique you choose.
